(StatePoint) Nearly 60% of Americans say they send thank you notes at least occasionally to show their appreciation for a gift or favor, according to a recent poll from AmericanGreetings.com. While writing thank yous might seem time consuming, it’s actually a wonderful opportunity to teach children important life lessons such as kindness, gratitude and empathy.

According to the Oklahoma Association of Optometry, 80% of all learning is visual, and simple vision screenings (like the kind schools provide) may not detect some vision problems that can impact health and learning.

Governor Stitt appoints new district judge

Governor Kevin Stitt appointed Rafe Hall to serve as the District Judge for the Third Judicial District which includes Greer, Harmon, Jackson, Kiowa, and Tillman Counties. Judge Hall graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1990 with a degree in Organizational Administration and a minor in Marketing before earning his juris doctorate from Oklahoma City University School of Law in 1994.
