Linda Sue (Weaver) Sheffi eld was born October 27, 1959, to Clyde and Louise (Clark) Weaver in Altus, Oklahoma. She grew up in Tipton, Oklahoma, where she graduated from Tipton High School with the Class of 1977. She attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma, where she studied elementary education.

Linda married the love of her life, Steven Lynn Sheffi eld, on February 14, 1981, in Frederick Oklahoma. She worked for the Frederick Public Schools for several years teaching special education. The family moved to Tennessee in 2006 at which time Linda was happy to be a homemaker.

Linda loved spending time with her family and spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. She sang gospel and country music and enjoyed listening to her family sing and play music. Together, they played card games, and she also enjoyed playing Wahoo with the family.

She enjoyed browsing on social media, dancing, and cheering for OU football, but more importantly, she loved cheering on her grandsons in their various activities.

She loved Steven’s big teddy bear hugs, Thomas’ loving protection over her; she also cherished girl time with Karla, long Bible talks with Lynn, and she loved watching Steve work, as she would always say that there was nothing that he couldn’t do or fix.

Her husband, Steve, was simply her hero. She trusted and confided in him in every way. They started each day with a kiss and an “I love you, Babe”. The two of them were inseparable. Linda’s pride and joy were their four children, Steven, Thomas, Karla, and Lynn. Nothing made her prouder than to watch the four of them perform on stage. She was always their loudest and biggest fan sitting on the front row for every performance.

Linda will forever be remembered for saying, “I love you,” and giving the tightest hugs to make sure you actually felt that love. Her belief was to put God first, her husband next, and then her family. She lived that every day. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to everyone she knew. Linda did all she could to live a life pleasing to God, and she made it clear that her ultimate goal was to be with Him in paradise.

“Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”

She is survived by her husband Steve of the home; three sons, Steven Sheffield of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Thomas Sheffield of Mount Juliet, Tennessee, and Lynn Sheffield and fiancé Jessica Bearden of Lebanon, Tennessee; one daughter, Karla Sheffield of Mount Juliet, Tennessee; two grandsons, Garrett and Trevor Sheffield of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two sisters, JoAnn Campbell and husband Alan of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and Barbara Ballard of Ringling, Oklahoma; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Linda was preceded in death by her grandmother who raised her, Sudie Clark; her parents, Clyde Willie and Louise Weaver; two sisters, Mary Jane Weaver and Loretta Weaver; one brother, James “Bud” Weaver; one niece, Cheryl Estrada; one brother-in-law, Jerry Sheffi eld; mother and father-inlaw, Edward and Ima Jean Sheffield; and Uncle James Weaver.
