The 51st annual Arts ‘N Action festival is scheduled for the third Saturday in September. Head out to the Tillman County Courthouse lawn, 201 N. Main St. in Frederick Sept. 16, 2023, to visit the art vendors, food vendors, and watch the wonderful talent that Frederick has to offer.

This event is sponsored by the Frederick Arts and Humanities Council.

The show is open to artists who exhibit their own original work and craftsmanship. The Frederick Arts and Humanities Council reserves the right to remove unacceptable work, such as items bought from someone else for resale. The fee for art vendors is $45, and the deadline to submit the application is Sept. 8, 2023.

The Arts Council is currently seeking artists, entertainers and food vendors. Artists must exhibit their own, original artwork. The Council reserves the right to remove unacceptable artwork, such as items bought for resale. Spaces for food booths and food trucks will be reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis.

To sign up for the festival, download the application at ramonatheatre.com.

Food vendor spaces are $25 and art vendor spaces are $45.

The Frederick Arts and Humanities Coun- cil is selling purchase awards. A purchase award is a gift certificate you can purchase for someone else, or for yourself, that can be used at any artist’s booth at Arts and Action. These awards are pre-sold each year and advertised to potential artists as money already spent at the art show — guaranteed money that each artist has the possibility of going home with. The more money spent, the more attractive our show looks to artists.

According to Sherri Jacobs, “If you need a gift for someone and aren’t quite sure what to get them, a purchase award makes an excellent gift. Purchase awards are basically gift certificates that may be used at any artist’s booth at Arts n’ Action. They are sold in advance and also may be purchase at the show. It is guaranteed money that each artist has the possibility of going home with. The more money spent on purchase awards, the more attractive our show looks to artists.”

Every year artists show up with mosaics, paintings, wood carvings, homemade jewelry, and even jams and jellies. For Purchase Awards, contact Sherri Jacobs at 580335-1109 or Sharla Bennight at 580-335-1285.

Chair the Art Show – the Frederick Arts and Humanities Council is inviting individuals, families, businesses, organizations, etc. to decorate a chair and place downtown for the fall decorating contest. They ask that chairs be displayed any time after Sept. 1.
