The history of Thanksgiving- like celebrations dates back to the 1600s, although it likely wasn’t “Thanksgiving” and it was a celebration much different than what we celebrate today. In 1621, the Plymouth colonists and Wampanoag Native Americans shared an autumn harvest feast that is acknowledged today as one of the first Thanksgiving celebrations in the colonies.

Senator James Lankford (R-OK) joined Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS) to lead a bipartisan group of Senators in asking two federal agencies to give farmers and ranchers more time to review and comment on significant reforms to the H-2A temporary agricultural workers program, which the Oklahoma agricultural community continues to rely on.
