Cameron University has joined the Workforce Recruitment Program (WRP), a recruitment and referral program managed by the U.S. Department of Labor and the U.S. Department of Defense. The program connects federal and private-sector employers nationwide with highly motivated college students and recent graduates with disabilities who are eager to demonstrate their abilities in the workplace through summer or permanent jobs.

October is Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) Awareness Month. One of the leading causes of death in babies one to 12 months old is sleep-related infant deaths, including SIDS, accidental suffocation, and strangulation in bed.

The number of children who are overweight or obese is a major public health concern. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity and Obesity helps shed light on this issue by sponsoring National Childhood Obesity Month in September.
