Local students fund-raising for outdoor Christmas tree

Rachel Stout and Lily-Marie Fraley along with the Frederick Chamber of Commerce and the 500 Club are excited to announce that Frederick is slated to have an outdoor Christmas tree again this year.

To raise funds for this annual event, Stout and Fraley are selling Christmas ornaments.

“We are calling it the Remembrance, Honor Tree,” Stout said. “The tree will be placed on the Tillman County Courthouse lawn. To help fund-raise the tree we are putting together light bulb keepsake ornaments that will have a person’s name on “in remembrance’ or “in honor” on the light bulb.

“Once you purchase a light bulb ornament, your loved one will be recognized on a signage near the outdoor tree,” Stout continued. “The keepsake ornaments are $10 and the loved one in honor of or remembrance of will still be recognized on a sign by the tree. You can also buy a separate ornament which is $5. The due date is Nov. 7. Forms are available in the Chamber of Commerce office. And delivery will start as soon as possible. Business are able to donate and will be recognized with an ornament on the tree.”

Orders are due by Nov. 7.
