Wednesday, June 9, from 2:00 – 3:00 PM we are happy to welcome back Sue Hokanson from Quartz Mountain. She will be teaching us How Birds Make a Living.
How do birds make a living? What and how does a Great Blue Heron eat? Is that different from how and what a Cardinal eats On Wednesday, June 9th at the Frederick Public Library you can find out! Sue Hokanson, Naturalist at Quartz Mountain Nature Park will start with a short PowerPoint presentation in the library basement. Once that concludes, participants will head outside for a fun-filled hands-on activity. You can dip aquatic plants and animals like a duck does. Or grab a frog with tongs like a Great Blue Heron eats.
Children ages 5-11 and/or grades K-5 are invited to enjoy the Library by attending these great presentations and by READING ALL SUMMER! The Library has lots of books about birds, animals, science, magic, and just about everything else for kids of all ages. All programs are open to the public and free of charge. Children younger than five must be accompanied by an adult.
Questions about the Summer Reading Program should be directed to the staff of the Frederick Public Library at 200 E. Grand. The phone number is 580-335-3601.
The Summer Reading Program and supplies are sponsored by the Oklahoma Department of Libraries, Sonic, Eta Gamma sorority, Frederick Public Library, and the Friends of the Library.
