Funeral service for Leah Killebrew, age 81, of rural Tipton will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at the Frederick Church of Christ, 13th & Josephine with Mike Suiter and Glenn Boyd officiating. Burial will follow in the Tipton Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Mrs. Killebrew passed away on Friday, January 29, 2010 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Atlus.

Leah (Boyd) Killebrew was born on September 9, 1928 to Homer G. and Ethel (Carruth) Boyd. She attended school in Tipton before transferring to Frederick Public School where she graduated with the class of 1946. She then went to Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. On August 21, 1952, she was united in marriage to Jack B. Killebrew at the home of her sister in Davidson. She had worked as a secretary at the Tipton Home for many years and retired in 1990. She was a faithful member of the Tipton Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband Jack of the home; one son and daughter-in-law: Dan Alan and Teresa Killebrew of Grapevine, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law: Karen Ruth and Rob Hale of Edmond, Oklahoma; one brother and sister-in-law: Glenn and Shirley Boyd of Searcy, Arkansas; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Mary Sue Brimberry of Austin, Texas, Jean and Buddy Wolfe of Frederick and Jane and Loyd Vaughan of Lubbock, Texas; three brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Sam and Lois Killebrew of Tipton, Robert and Linda Killebrew of Altus, and Tom and Sandy Killebrew of Eldorado Springs, Missouri; five grandchildren: Alan Killibrew and his wife Christine of Irving, Texas, Leah Kathryn Killebrew of Dallas, Leslie Killebrew of Searcy, Arkansas, Tacy and Jack Hale both of Edmond; and one expected great-granddaughter: Emma Michelle Killebrew.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son: Gary Glenn Killebrew; and three brothers: Vernon, Eldon and Jess Paul Boyd.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Tipton Home in memory of Leah Killebrew.
