Graveside service for Ruth Lee Smart, age 86, of Davidson, Oklahoma will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 2, 2009 at the Davidson Cemetery with Rev. Sonny Smart officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Mrs. Smart passed away on Thursday morning, December 31, 2009 at the Memorial Nursing Center in Frederick.

Ruth Lee Smart was born on December 11, 1923 in Atoka, Oklahoma to William Taylor and Beulah Jayne (Joplin) Tadlock. She attended Atoka Public Schools. Ruth was united in marriage to Travis Eugene Smart on March 15, 1942 in Frederick, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on August 2, 1988. She was an active member at the First Baptist Church in Davidson where she worked in the kitchen, taught Sunday school class, and went with the youth several times to Falls Creek. Mr. & Mrs. Smart both taught training union on Sunday nights for many years.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law: Linda and David Hoover of Davidson; one son and daughter-in-law: Galen and Judy Smart of Davidson; one sister: Evelyn Chance of Wichita Falls, Texas; six grandchildren and spouses: Stacia and Mark Boyd, Jamie & Ron Wilson, Trisha and Steven Gresser, Sonny and Erin Smart, Sandy and Chris Tucker and Amy and Aaron Phillips; great-grandchildren: D.J. & Travis Boyd, Kaylee and Kyle Wilson, Kate & Gavin Gresser; Bethany and William Garrett Smart, Carson Tucker, Abbigale and Aubrey Phillips.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two brothers: Albert and Paul Tadlock.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Nursing Center, the Family Life Center in Davidson or to the charity of the donor’s choice in memory of Ruth L. Smart.
