Funeral service for Lois Wynnell Jackson, age 79, of Frederick will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 24, 2009, at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Horton officiating. Burial will follow in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Mrs. Jackson passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton.

She was born October 23, 1929, at Carnegie, Oklahoma, to Glen Stanley and Edna Lucretia (Hickerson) Wallis. She attended Carnegie Public Schools, later transferring and graduating from Frederick High School. On January 8, 1949, she and Lorrance Larue "Lew" Jackson were united in marriage at Vernon, Texas. He died on August 11, 2003. Wynnell worked as a switchboard operator for the General Telephone Company before working as bookkeeper for various livestock sale barns as well as L.L. Jackson Trucking for many years. She was appointed and served for 21 years as Tillman County Election Board Secretary, retiring in 2008. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Debra Jackson of Frederick; two daughters and sons-in-law, Melynna and James Hewitt of Lindsay and Jan and Wallace Townsend of Davidson; two brothers and sister-in-law, Wesley Wallis of Lawton and L.R. "Dutch" and Gene Wallis of Midwest City; a sister and brother-in-law, Opal and Weegie Williams of Hobart; five grandchildren, April Hewitt Schwabe and husband Ryan, Jayme Hewitt Wilkins and husband Kevin, Jenny Jackson, Brent Varner and Jake Fillmore; four great-grandchildren, Brooklin and Trey Schwabe and Tyler and Lindsey Wilkins; a special cousins, Jim Pat Wallis who Wynnell served as his guardian. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two brothers, Marshall and Victor Wallis.
