The 6th grade basketball teams played another round of their short season Tuesday afternoon. The teams took on the Davidson Sandies in Davidson.

The action was hot and heavy and the level of competition was high. The girls started off with a solid performance and beat the Lady Sandies

13-10. The boys followed with a great game. Davidson took the lead early and even though the game was very close throughout, the Sandies got the win by the score of 13-12.

The 6th grade lady Bombers were led by Ashlyn Brite, Terra Morrison,

Justice Neals, Ciara Cardona, Deighton Howell and Taryn Stacey. The girls

kept the defensive pressure on and prevented a late game rally by the

Davidson ladies. Congratulations to coach Classie Nolan and the Lady

Bombers.

The boys fell behind early due to great shots by the Davidson five. They put themselves in too big a hole to overcome easily. Even then they tried very hard to get the win. With 5 seconds left on the clock and the ball on the Davidson end of the court, Maguire Perrett stole a pass and set

sail for the Bomber goal. His shot off the glass was no good. So close, yet so far. Maguire scored 4 of the Bomber points in the game. Drew Biggs, Juan Cervantes, Jarret Tyra, and Aaron Mathews added the other points to the Bombers score.

GO LADY BOMBERS! GO BOMBERS!
