Funeral service for Phyllis J. Anderson, age 72, of Snyder, Oklahoma will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 23, 2009 at Jackson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kirk Reimers officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery at Snyder, Oklahoma under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Mrs. Anderson passed away on Thursday evening, August 20, 2009 at Ayers Nursing Center in Snyder.
Phyllis Jean Smith Anderson was born on September 14, 1936, southwest of Snyder, Oklahoma to R. V. and Bessie Louise (Hightower) Smith. She attended Laing Consolidated #1, northwest of Manitou. She was united in marriage to Charles William Anderson on January 1, 1971 in Altus, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death. Phyllis was a homemaker.
She is survived by two daughters: Kathy Dickey and Karee Combs and her husband Phillip all of Snyder; one brother: Ronnie Smith and his wife Charlene of Plano, Texas; one sister: Sonya Askew and her husband Gene of Gun Barrel, Texas; four grandchildren: Ty Williams and his wife Melissa of Weatherford, Texas, Nathan Nichols and Nicole Duarte and her husband Brandon all of Snyder; and Mollye Williams of Fort Cobb; one great-grandson: Taegan Duarte of Snyder.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister: Debra Gayle Smith; one brother: Tommy Claude Smith; and one great-granddaughter: Gracie Jo Williams.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation - Alzheimer Division in memory of Phyllis Anderson.
