Frederick’s own Rock n Roll Band, made up of firefighters, will be performing this Saturday, June 20th at 7pm, at the Pioneer Townsite Museum, as part of the Frederick Frederick Arts & Humanities Council’s “Concerts in the Park” series.

5-alarm is made up of our own local fire department: J.A. Eskew, Lance Whitson, Rodney Rushin, Billy Don Rushin, and Jerry Abbott.

5-Alarm officially formed about 1 year ago in the back bay of the local fire department. Where did the name come from? Well, after tossing around a few names, Jerry’s wife, Kimberly, suggested 5-Alarm for more than one reason; there are five members, it’s a well known firefighting term, and its meaning may be just what they are someday known for- the biggest of its kind.

The band has performed in many towns, to include Yukon, El Reno, Headrick, Faxon, and here in Frederick. Many of you may have supported them during this past October’s Rocktoberfest here in Frederick. That was just a taste of what you’ll get at their next performance during the Frederick Arts & Humanities Council’s concerts in the park. Since their last community performance, they have added eight band originals to their play list, their favorite being ‘Blue Sara’. They have labeled their style of original music as the ‘rock ‘n roll side of red dirt’.

When asked why you should come out and see them perform, they responded, “You won’t be disappointed.” They have a wide spectrum of songs, from country to rock to red dirt, and there will something for everyone! The show is expected to last for 2-2 ? hours. So, bring your lawn chair, and be prepared for a good time, and an exciting show!
