Funeral Service for former Frederick resident Leslie Aaron Fondren, age 61, of Denton, Texas, will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 29, 2009, at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home.

Mr. Fondren passed away Sunday, May 24, 2009, at his home in Denton.

Leslie Aaron Fondren was born September 8, 1947, at Frederick, to John Wesley and Emma Mae (Edwards) Fondren, Jr. He attended Frederick Public Schools, graduating from Frederick High School in 1965. Leslie worked many jobs including C.R. Anthony’s in Frederick and Kermit, Texas. He later worked in the oilfield and as a electric journeyman. After moving to Denton, Texas, he worked as a security officer in Louisville, and then as an assistant residential supervisor for the Denton State School, He retired in 2008. He was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church of Frederick, Oklahoma.

He is survived by his mother: Emma Fondren of Aubrey, Texas; two sons: John Fondren of Denton, Texas and Chad Fondren of Fay, Oklahoma; a daughter and son-in-law: Anna and Ross Roberts of Watonga, Oklahoma; two sisters and brother-in-law: Sue Green of Denton, Texas and Jean and Terry Roberts of Aubrey, Texas; five grandchildren: Kayla, Derrick, Austin and Tori Bennett and Joshua Roberts; six nieces and nephews: Michael, Stormy, and Sabrina Ferrell, Stacey McCasland, and Josh and Jake Roberts; and four great-nieces and nephews: Chealsee and Emile’ McCasland, and Collin and Mackenzie Ferrell.

He was preceded in death by his father; and a son: John Wesley Fondren, III.

The family will receive visitors, Thursday evening at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m.
