Elizabeth Stevens and Eric Van der Laan will share Valdictorian honors for the FHS Class of 2009. Elizabeth is the daughter of JIm and Rebecca Stevens. She has attended Great Plains Technology Center studying Business COmputer Technology, receiving a Certiciate of Completion

She is proficient in Microsoft Office 2003, Basic and Computerized Accounting, Payroll Management, Telephone Etiquette, Writen Communications, Filing, Computer Fundamentals, Office Safety, 10-key/Business Math.

Her interests and activies include Band, Choir, Musical, Business Professionals of America.

She has worked at Delbert’s Supermarket.

Eric is the son of Mr and Mrs. Pieter Van der Laan. He has a GPA of 4.0 and an ACT Score of 26. He has taken college level courses in American History and Federal Government. He has achieved skills in A.I. Technician, Tractor Operatro, Weilding, Forage Harvester.

His extra-cirricular activities include FFA, 4-H, and Interact.

Eric has earned the following honors: Naitonal Honor Society, Oklahoma Hono Society, Oklahoma Honor Society, Boy’s State Delegate, Dairy Leadership Conference, FFA Officer, Top Ten, All-Region Band, National FFA Convention, 6th place in FFA Creed Speaking Contest, FFA Washington Leadership Conference, FFA Alumni Camp, Owner of 2008 Tillman County Free Fair Supreme Champion Dairy Heifer.

He has worked at Windy Lanes Vineyard 1 year, Lovejoy Construction, and Van der Laan Dairy. He has volunteered for the following community activities: Clean-Up Frederick, Frederick Oyster Fry, Cleaing Fairgrounds, Preparing Fairgrounds, Building new baseball field fence, serving lunch at blood drives, can food drives, putting up notices about clean-up Frederick and ag day for Frederick Headstart.

His hobbies are raising and showing dairy cattle. Reading, fishing and building.

Eric’s future plans are to attend Oklahoma State University and Major in Agribusiness.
