OKLAHOMA CITY – Two highways in Tillman County will soon be improved thanks to a project announced by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation. The project is funded by the federal economic stimulus package, said State Sen. Tom Ivester and State Rep. Dom Armes.

According to ODOT, the project involves resurfacing US-183 and US-70 beginning eight miles north of the Texas state line, extending north to the south edge of the City of Frederick.

Sen. Ivester (D-Sayre), said the State Transportation Commission awarded a contract over $750,000 on the project to T&G Construction, Inc. The Lawton company was the lowest of three bidders for the job, said Rep. Armes, (R-Faxon).

Once construction begins, the project is estimated to be completed within 30 days.
