Funeral service for Barbara Jean Beane, age 57, of Tipton, will be at 10:00 a.m., Sunday, September 16, 2012, at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, Tipton, Oklahoma, with Pastor Willie O. Butler officiating. Burial will follow in the Tipton Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home. Mrs. Beane passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2012, at Plantation Village in Altus.

Barbara Jean Beane was born on May 7, 1955, to Leonard and Lue Eva (Johnson) Stevenson. She attended the Tipton Public Schools.

On February 14, 2005, she was united in marriage to Clyde Beane in Vernon, Texas. He preceded her in death in 2011. She was a member of the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son, Steve Stevenson of Tipton, Oklahoma; one daughter, Kelly Merriweather of Altus, Oklahoma; two brothers, Kenneth Stevenson and his wife, Ruth, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Samuel Stevenson of Dallas, Texas; six sisters, Ida Blackmon and her husband, Perly, of Tipton, Oklahoma, Pearlie Patterson of Washington D.C., Dorothy Richardson of Lawton, Oklahoma, Judy Hairston and her husband, Everett, of Ft Worth, Texas, Dyian Dorsey of Tipton, Oklahoma, and Joyce Hill of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and one grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one brother, Jackie Stevenson.
