Hicks

Funeral service for Houston Cephus Hicks, age 71, of Frederick, Oklahoma, was held June 26, 2012, at the Orr Gray Gish Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Abel Gonzalez, pastor, of Primera Iglesia Bautista Church, in Frederick, Oklahoma, officiating.

Mr. Hicks passed away June 23, 2012, at his home in Frederick. Burial will be at Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Orr Gray Gish Funeral Home.

He was born on July 26, 1940, to Laymon Cephus and Sophina (Ashalintubby) Hicks, in Watson, Oklahoma. He attended schools in Hugo, Weaver and Frederick. He married Josie Flores on July 3, 1959, in Vernon, Texas. He worked for Century Granite Company, Betsy Bra, Schlegel and Walker Mobile Homes. He later married Norma Jean Byrd on September 9, 1983, in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was a landlord and had numerous rental properties. He loved to hunt and fish. He was a Baptist.

He was preceded in death by his infant sister: Virginia, in December 1944; father: Laymon Hicks on October 3, 1996; his mother: Sophina Hicks on January 31, 2007; and one step-son: Arthur Byrd on June 29, 2009.

He is survived by his wife: Norma Hicks, of Frederick, Oklahoma; four children: JoAnna Hicks O’Neill, of Cypress, TX, Linda Haston and husband Danny, of Frederick, OK, Jimmy Hicks, of Wichita Falls, TX, and Gary Hicks and wife Kristi, of Palestine, TX; three sisters: Rena Cornelius, of Muskogee, OK, Mary Teague, of Frederick, OK, and Dora Williams, of Frederick, OK; 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren.

Leckie

Graveside service for Chylene Maxine Leckie, age 60, of Snyder, Oklahoma, was held June 25, 2012, at the Mt. Park Cemetery, with Rev. William Dickey officiating.

Mrs. Leckie passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012, in an Oklahoma City Hospital. Arrangements were under the direction of Orr Gray Gish Funeral Home, Frederick, Oklahoma.

Chylene was born on January 16, 1952, to Max and Gwendolyn Aletta (Head) Killian, in Snyder, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her father.

She is survived by her mother: Gwen Killian, of Snyder, OK; two sons: Shawn Leckie and wife Jonnie, of Oklahoma City, and Richie Leckie and wife Jennifer, of Moore; one brother; and eight grandchildren.

Vassar

Graveside services for Charles Vassar, age 72, of Tipton, Oklahoma, was held June 23, 2012, at the Tipton Municipal Cemetery, with Jr. Vassar (son), officiating.

Mr. Vassar passed away June 20, 2012, at an Altus hospital. Inurnment is under the direction of Tipton Funeral Home, in Tipton, Oklahoma.

He was born January 31, 1940, to John and Leola (Jenkins) Vassar, at Crowell, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by two sons: Jeff Vassar and his wife Joanna, of Fort Worth, Texas, and Jr. Vassar and wife Ginger, of New York, New York; one daughter: Lisa Hanna, of Granbury, Texas; 7 and one sister.

Jones

Memorial committal service for Billy Wayne Jones, age 75, formerly of Davidson, Oklahoma, will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday June 28, 2012, at the Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, Oklahoma, with a United States Military Chaplain officiating. Inurnment will follow the service.

Mr. Jones passed away June 7, 2012, in an Altus hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Orr Gray Gish Funeral Home, Frederick, Oklahoma.

He was born on June 21, 1936, to Pitt and Lola (Humphrey) Jones, in Davidson, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers.

He is survived by one sister.
