The Frederick Bombers are building a strong foundation for the baseball program. They are keeping busy competing in summer baseball, putting an emphasis on preparing themselves for when spring baseball starts in 2013. It seems like that’s quite some time down the road, but it will be here in a blink of an eye.

Charlie Stone, head coach of the Frederick Bombers, discussed some recent games played by Frederick. At the end of May, Frederick played Comanche. Reflecting on that game the head coach said “For the most part we played pretty well. We hit the ball pretty good and did a good job of running the bases. It was a pretty good game all around for us.”

Frederick won 14-5.

In the second game of a doubleheader against Comanche the Bombers continued to take their game to new heights.

Single runs were scored by Patrick Burleson, Tarren Flores, Trevor Flores, Juan Lopez and Dallas Mathews. Two runs were scored by Tyler Hicks and Cody Rogers. Frederick scratched across three more runs. Frederick rolled over Comanche 12-9.

The Bombers also entered the strike zone playing a doubleheader against Hobart on June 5.

In this game there was some great offense played by Frederick. Blake Cotten stole six bases and Trevor Flores also stole several bases. There was a good bunting game going on, also, helping runners move over on bases.

Dion Hatten pitched an inning and Trevor Flores pitched an inning. Bryce Garza pitched for three innings. “It was good to see that Bryce is coming up as a freshman and playing such a good defensive game,” commented Stone. The Frederick Bombers run ruled Hobart 14-2. The Bombers also run ruled Hobart in the second game.
