Davis

Graveside service for Katherine Jean Davis, age 67, of Frederick was held March 5, 2012 at the Frederick Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Chandler officiating. Burial followed under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home. Mrs. Davis passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at in a Lawton Hospital.

Katherine Jean Davis was born on November 14, 1944 in Stringtown, Oklahoma to William Daniel and Mary Jane (Wheat) Rutledge. She attended school in Stringtown. Katherine was united in marriage to Melvin Alfred Davis on May 2, 1966 in Frederick, Oklahoma

She is survived by her husband Melvin of the home; five sons: Danny Rutledge and his wife Tonya of Kiowa, Oklahoma, Floyd Davis, Dale Davis and his wife Delia, Dennis Davis and Ricky Davis all of Frederick; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Herring

Funeral service for Gaylynn (Taylor) Herring, 58, Frederick, was held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012 in the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, Lawton with Dr. William F. Watkins, Baptist Minister, Lawton officiating.

Gaylynn died Tuesday in Frederick, Oklahoma.

Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service.

Gaylynn was born September 10, 1953 in Lawton to Robert Murray and Vivian Juanita (Gibson) Taylor. She grew up in Lawton and attended Eisenhower High School where she graduated in 1971. She was a member of the Junior Service League of Lawton for several years. For the last twenty years she owned and operated Sweet Magnolias Antique Mall in Frederick. She loved looking for hidden treasures at estate sales and playing with her granddaughters.

Gaylynn is survived by a son, Patrick, and his wife Stacy Herring of Amarillo, Texas; two beautiful granddaughters, Harper Faye Herring and Garner Vivian Herring; two sisters, Cora Lee, and husband Jim Shaw of Lawton, and Nan, and husband Mike Kent of Lawton; nieces and nephews Tye Watson, Tia Isbell, Kimberly Hopkins, Bobby Taylor, Terry Shaw, Darry Shaw, Corey Kent, Jay Kent, and John George; and many great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Vic Taylor.
