Bomber tackle football begins Sept. 10. The independent league coincides with the Quarterback Club season and is for ages 12 and under.

It is a self-funded program that is run solely on parents and volunteers. The head coaches are Fabian Reyes, defensive linemen; Joe Van Russell, offense and linebackers; and Joe Wood, special teams, backs and receivers.

Towns participating in the league are Anadarko, Weatherford, Carnegie, Apache, Elgin, Cache, Burnsflatt, Hobart, Meritt and Frederick.

The season will run from Sept. 10 to Oct. 29 and at least three dates will be home games.

There will be a Round Robin tournament Aug. 27. Any child weighing more than 135 pounds won’t run the ball, play defensive back, linebacker or defensive end. They will play on the line.

The top four teams play on Oct. 22 and the other teams will be equally paired, similar to a bowl game. Two winning teams out of four will play Oct. 29.
