Whitworth Wins Razor Thin Victory
Incumbent Frederick City Council member Eddie Whitworth has defeated challenger Chuck Akin…by one vote. The final count, according to the Oklahoma Election Board, is Whitworth: 127 votes; Akin: 126 votes. In Tipton, Marvin D. Huff will keep is seat on the Board of Trustees after defeating Alton Davis 153 to 61. And Jed Lovejoy lost his bid for Town Treasurer to Doris Romines 164 to 49. These are unofficial, unverified results. Election results are posted to this website as they are received at the State Election Board from county election boards and will not include provisional ballot results until after 5 PM Friday, April 5. Results shown here are subject to contest and recount and are neither final nor official until they are so certified by the appropriate county election board. Unless a contest of election or a petition for recount has been filed, results will be certified by county election boards not earlier than 5 PM Friday, April 5. Results of a race in which a contest of election or a petition for recount has been filed cannot be certified until the contest has been heard or the recount has been completed.
