A truck driver is in critical condition after he crashed his freight liner Feb. 22.
Kiunte T. Cornelious was driving his truck on the Interstate 44 H.E. Bailey Turnpike at about 6:20 a.m. Feb. 22. He was about a mile west of Geronimo heading northbound when he departed the roadway. The driver over-corrected which caused him to roll the truck.
Cornelious was taken by Comanche County Emergency Medical Service to Comanche County Memorial Hospital where he was admitted in critical condition with head injuries as well as internal and other injuries.
Trooper Chance Slater of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol was on scene to investigate the accident and reported that the cause of the collision was because the driver was allegedly tired.
Slater was assisted in his investigation by Trooper Robert Hedges, the Comanche County Sheriff’s Department and the Department of Environmental Quality.
