Altus man killed in crash

A wreck claimed the life of an Altus man Feb. 16, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The accident happened about a mile west of Post Oak Road, and about three miles southeast of Indiahoma in Comanche County.

Anthonio Maldonado Jr., 45 of Altus had reportedly parked his 1995 Chevy Camaro improperly in the outside lane of U.S. 62.

Terry Joe Boren, 41 of Lawton was driving his 2016 Toyota Prius eastbound in the outside lane of U.S. 62 when he hit the Camaro from behind.

Maldonado was pronounced dead at the scene by Medical Examiner Investigator Emma Prophet. His passenger Patricia Mancha, 48 of Altus was transported by Survival Flight to Comanche County Memorial Hospital and admitted in fair condition.

Boren was not injured in the crash. His passenger, Edward Moss, 59 of Lawton was transported by Comanche County Emergency Medical Service to Comanche County Memorial Hospital. He was treated and released.

The crash was initially investigated by the OHP, Comanche County Sheriff’s Department, Indiahoma Fire Department, Tillman County EMS, Cache Police Department, Comanche County EMS, Survival Flight, Prophet and Southwest Oklahoma Mortuary Service.
